Sonora, CA -- When all else fails that's when the Mother Lode Office of Catholic Charities steps in to help thanks to an anonymous $100,000 grant.

Charity officials say the Tuolumne County GRACE (Giving Respect and Caring Encouragement) Fund aids residents when they have exhausted all other resources.

Director of Senior Services for the Mother Lode Office Kathi Toepel says, "In these hard economic times, some individuals need just a little assistance to get back on the road to recovery. Usually there is assistance through the various service agencies in Tuolumne County that provide for daily living needs; however these funds offer assistance in order to obtain or retain employment, or for a specialized need that would not be funded elsewhere. Our office has often had requests for help where no other funding is available. Now, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the Mother Lode Wellness Fund, and the Sonora Area Foundation, we can offer these individuals some hope."

To apply or see if you qualify please contact Liz Logan at the Mother Lode Office of Catholic Charities at 532-7632.
