Election Myth Buster
Sonora, CA - If you plan on voting at the polls here is what is needed to cast your ballot. Tuolumne County's Election official Debi Russell-Bautista says it all depends on your status as a registered voter.
Russell-Bautista says, "The only people who will need to show some kind of proof are your very first time voters or if you have just moved to the community or you have just turned 18. In that case, next to your name their will be a message that you need to show your ID. That can be a picture ID or a utility bill that says your current local."
Russell-Bautista says those first time voters won't need to show any proof of ID if they cast their ballot by mail. And she says it is a trend many young new first time voters are taking advantage of this election.
