Tuolumne County Supervisor Randy Hanvelt is looking forward to the election results next Tuesday evening.

Hanvelt was Thursday's KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".

"All of the results are important," said Hanvelt. "Most of the outcomes, large and small, will either help or hurt several of the issues that we will have to continue to deal with here in Tuolumne County".

After nearly sixteen years, District 5 Supervisor Dick Pland is leaving and a new person will soon take the seat.

Hanvelt reflects, "Pland has been a mentor to me. He has served with experience, dignity, judgement and honor. He has been a positive influece on me and in the future I know will want to call him and seek his wisdom."

Future headlining concerns for Hanvelt remain both water and jobs.

Additionally Hanvelt adds, "I'm concerned about several issues including public safety, road repairs, libraries and recreational opportunities. All of these are affected, when our budget is tight."

Finally Hanvelt says that he would like to continue to work with the Forest Service to properly care for our natural resources.

"We know that we can get wood products out of our forests and there's a market for that. Our forests are overgrown and we have a severe fire danger," says Hanvelt.

Hanvelt has been active with the Fire Safe Council and has been helping to address specific issues in which fire safety is a concern.

KVML radio will broadcast complete election result coverage on Tuesday, November 6th beginning at 3pm, as the national results begin rolling in and from 8pm - 11pm for all local and state results.

Mymotherlode.com will also have complete results listed that evening.

The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45am
