The Customer Comes First
Sonora, CA -- Tuolumne County is implementing a plan to show its staff exactly how to aid residents when it comes to dealing with the county. The county has started a Customer Service Training Program. County officials say the program has skits on how to handle customers and involves plenty of staff participation.
Administration Analyst Tracie Riggs says the classes were not prompted by a rash of customer complaints, rather administrators wanted to bring the best service possible to customers.
Riggs says "While we provide different services in each department of the county, what we can all provide is exceptional customer service and that is where we become united in what we do. What this means for the community and the purpose of this training is to provide a much more user friendly county government. A local government that is going to be compassionate and empathetic to your needs and if we can't help you we'll find out who can."
Riggs says nearly 800 employees are required to take the training which lasts nearly two hours.
