Tuolumne County Emergency Drill
Tuolumne County Emergency Drill

Sonora, CA -- What would happen if a massive fire knocked out the main T.U.D. water flume at Lyons Dam?

That was the simulated scenario at the annual Emergency Services Drill held at Striker Court today. City, County and State of California agencies took part in the exercise, as well as representatives from Sonora Regional Medical Center, the Tuolumne Band of Mi Wuk Indians and other agencies.

Ethan Billigmeier, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the T.C. Public Health Department served as the Exercise Director.

"All the responding agencies have to figure out how it would impact the area and what plans and protocols they would need to have in place," says Billigmeier. "These annual drills test county emergency plans, and help us shore things up."

Similar drills are being carried out in other counties throughout the state.
