Missing Hiker In Yosemite Found Dead
Yosemite Valley, CA-- A missing hiker has been found dead at Yosemite National Park.
Park officials say 69-year-old Gene R. Hall from Olympia, Washington was found dead in his tent Saturday afternoon at around 2:30 pm. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but appears to be from natural causes.
Searchers located the tent off-trail near Fletcher Lake, which is in the vicinity of Vogelsang. Hall had been hiking alone in the Vogelsang area and had been missing since Thursday, September 1, when he failed to show up for a previously scheduled engagement.
Search and Rescue teams that assisted in the rescue effort were Yosemite Search and Rescue, including Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Fresno County, Marin County and Tuolumne County.
