Sierra Waters Running Cold, Fast And Deep
Despite the expected triple digit temperatures in the Motherlode this weekend, the waterways in the Sierra Nevada continue to run cold, fast and deep.
Exposure to cold water can quickly lead to hypothermia and affects even the strongest swimmers. It can be fatal.
Children twelve and under are required by law to wear life jackets when recreating in and near area waterways. But everyone should wear a life jacket in order to stay safe.
