Mokelumne Hill Accident Leaves Man Injured
Mokelumne Hill, CA-- A man from Mokelumne Hill was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a jeep accident.
The CHP reports that 63-year-old Darryl Knight was driving his 2004 Jeep Wrangler on Highway 49 just south of Lombardi Drive near Mokelumne Hill at around noon.
For unknown reasons, Knight turned to the right of the roadway and collided into a raised concrete curb. He then veered back to the left, across both lanes and struck another raised asphalt curb. After this impact, he continued and collided into a metal post east of the northbound lane.
He then continued traveling in a south-easterly direction and collided into a 4' deep dirt ditch. After the collisions, Knight's jeep came to a rest in the dirt ditch. He was transported to a Sacramento hospital for his injuries.
