Sonora, CA - There are many activities taking place in the Mother Lode this weekend to celebrate Independence Day.

Saturday highlights include a Family Independence Day Celebration from 10am-3pm at the Christian Heights Church in Sonora. The Arnold Independence Day parade starts at 10am along Highway 4. Saturday evening is the "Fireworks on the Water" celebration over Lake Don Pedro. At Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys, the gates will open for the annual fireworks display at 4:30pm with the event getting underway later in the night.
On Sunday, Twain Harte's "Parade with a Harte" will start at 11am in downtown. The Columbia "Glorious Fourth of July Celebration" will begin at 10:30am.
