Railtown 1897 In Need of Volunteers

Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown is inviting all prospective volunteers to the park's grounds on Saturday Feb 21st to take a look around, gather information and talk one on one with park staff.

David Rainwater, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park's Volunteer Coordinator was Friday's KVML Newsmaker of the Day.

"There are several positions available and all we ask from each volunteer is to give us eight hours of time per month." said Rainwater.

Positions available include ticket agents, tour guides, greeters, brakemen and rail car hosts.

Railtown's full season will run from April 4th through November.

Saturday's event runs from 10am - 1pm. Snacks will be served and tours given.
