Standard

Standard is located a few miles east of Sonora. It is undefined as a town, blending with Sonora along highway 108 where you turn to head out to Tuolumne. Standard draws huge crowds to events at the Standard Park Sports Complex. In the summer the four baseball fields are converted into eight or more soccer areas for Tuolumne County Youth Soccer. The annual Santa Fly-In is also at Standard Park, click here for that news story.

History of Standard

Standard is currently at the end of the Sierra Railroad, the tracks continue to Tuolumne but are no longer used. The Sierra Railroad Company was launched in 1897 to connect the Gold Country with the world. It is the third oldest railroad in North America.
