myMotherLode.com had a single page destination guide and I was given the simple instruction: expand it. The project quickly became monstrous. You could even call the amount of information "ginormous." The destination guide was created for people to see and learn about how beautiful the Mother Lode is. I wanted all the information about the unique places in the Mother Lode to be included. As I collected information about one lake, or trail, or museum there would be information about another and another… it was never ending! Distilling it down to be a brief guide has been the most difficult task. In its current form there is room for more information. Feel free to add comments about your trips and adventures at these great places. If you live here this guide will help you "staycation" take a long weekend or a mini-break to destinations within 300 miles of home. We welcome those who visit to take in this brief collection of destinations to truly appreciate the Mother Lode. Certainly this guide is about appreciating the outdoors. Eco-tourism and historic travel are among the hottest travel trends today. The Mother Lode has the stunning Yosemite National Park and several historic sites… So share the guide with friends and family, add comments, use it to find something great to do.
