Welcome to the Mother Lode Roundup!
Isn't it great to be a part of Tuolumne County's richest continuous
family tradition. This classic Mother's Day weekend event has been staged
in historic Sonora, California for 48 years. This year marks the 57th anniversary
of the Tuolumne County Sheriff's
Posse who has produced the Round-Up in a rewarding partnership with the
Tuolumne
County business
community.
Because of the generous support of the local business community, local
government and law enforcement entities, and the hard work of the posse
men, their families and many, many volunteers, the Round-Up has grown into
one of the finest spring rodeos and celebration in California. Every year
over 350 of pro rodeo's finest cowboys and cowgirls are attracted
to this event. Saturday's parade is recognized as the second largest
parade for entries in California. (Second only to the Rose Parade in Pasadena)
Over 50,000 visitors are drawn every year to the Tuolumne County Round-Up
weekend, making it an event not to be missed. The Round-up has always been
respected as one of California's finest yearly events.
The Mother Lode Round-Up is a traditional American family event, and hometown
reunion that celebrates and pays tribute to our regional agricultural heritage,
and the people in our County's past that kept this special event alive.
Most
of
all everyone looks forward to a fun, great time celebrated during the beautiful
spring
season in the Sierra Nevada foothills. This event is the reminder of memories
of simpler times and rodeo as it used to be. Break out your boots and Stetsons
and
celebrate
Mother's Day with us "Round-Up" style.
Thanks to all the Posse families for making the 2004, 48th annual, another
Round-up to remember.
Happy Mother's Day to my mom Patricia O'Brien. Love to Lisa,
Molly, Paige, and Libby.
Thanks again,
Al O'Brien
