Pacheco Fire Close To Containment

Jenny Lind, CA – Firefighters have nearly completely extinguished the Pacheco Fire burning in Calaveras County.

Cal Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff states, “The blaze is 95 percent contained and could reach 100 percent by Friday evening.” The acreage reached 341 on Wednesday and has held steady since then. About 15 firefighters remain on the scene located off Lanford/Pacheco Road, according to Shoff. There are 2 engines and one water tender working the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials are also actively trying to determine what sparked the Stagecoach Fire near Copperopolis. The blaze was fully contained Thursday morning and charred 35 acres.  Both fires broke out on Tuesday afternoon.
