Kirk Gives Opinions About Fire Restructuring

Sonora, CA — In a new myMotherLode.com blog, District Three Supervisor Anaiah Kirk weighs in on the county’s latest efforts to streamline fire services.

We reported earlier that the supervisors are investigating the possibility of creating a larger, countywide, department, and merging with many of the smaller districts. It comes as the Tuolumne County Fire Department, alone, is facing a $500,000 shortfall for the upcoming fiscal year.

Kirk writes, “we must look toward the future and make our communities safer now more than ever. It is not going to be easy, but we can’t kick the can down the road anymore.”

Click here to read Kirk’s blog where he puts forward many additional details, and gives his opinions.
