Forward Rate Of Spread Stopped On Jacksonville Fire

Jamestown, CA — While the Twist Fire continues to garner close attention in the community, CAL Fire reports that the forward rate of spread has stopped on the nearby 690 acre Jacksonville Fire that ignited on Saturday.

It is officially 73-percent contained. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It ignited Saturday at 1:50pm on Jacksonville Road near Jamestown. No structures were damaged, but several nearby homes were evacuated. All of the evacuation orders were lifted by yesterday morning.
