Meet The Sheriff Event Cancelled

Copperopolis, CA — Copperopolis residents will have to wait a little longer to get up close and personal with Calaveras County Sheriff Rick DiBasilio.

As stated in a notice to the public, “Due to another obligation, Sheriff Rick Dibasilio regrets to announce that he has to postpone the Meet the Sheriff event scheduled for July 30th in Copperopolis at Roasters Coffee Corner.” The meeting was to give residents a chance to get to know the newly appointed sheriff after the untimely death of previous Sheriff Gary Kuntz.

As previously reported here, three “Meet the Sheriff” events were scheduled through August.  One of the gatherings already took place last Saturday in Avery.  The other will take place August 20 in Angels Camp.  Additionally, on that date in Arnold, a town hall meeting with the sheriff and District 3 Supervisor Mike Oliveira to discuss crime in the area.

Currently, there is no new date for a possible postponement meeting in the Copperopolis area, according to sheriff’s officials.
