CAL Fire Extinguishing Vegetation Fires In Calaveras County

Calaveras County, CA — Firefighters have stopped a grass fire’s forward rate of spread in Mountain Ranch, and earlier this afternoon contained a vegetation fire in Valley Springs.

Resources are currently working to fully extinguish a five acre fire in the 15000 block of Jesus Maria Road in Mountain Ranch. The fire ignited during the three o’clock hour this afternoon and the forward rate of spread has been stopped. No homes or structures were damaged and the cause is under investigation.

Earlier this afternoon there was also a six acre grass fire in Valley Springs in the 5700 block of South Burson Road. No homes or structures were damaged and the cause is not immediately known.
