Tuolumne County Education Top Heavy?

Sonora, CA — Education is the focus of this weekend’s Mother Lode Views.

Hear from Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Margie Bulkin about the latest on the merger push and safety in the schools in light of a recent student assault at Sonora High School. She will also discuss the new data released from the state regarding preparing and graduating students to enter the workforce.  Bulkin says, “Besides four year degrees, what is exciting is that 70% of new jobs will not require a four year degree. It will require a certificate or technical skills plus academic knowledge that helps students be successful in the new work place.” She adds the community is poised to do well in that atmosphere with Columbia College collaborating with area high schools offering programs that create career pathways to getting those jobs.

Mother Lode Views airs Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30 on AM-1450 KVML. Mother Lode Views can also be heard Sunday morning at 10 o’clock on 93.5 KKBN and at 9 a.m. on STAR 92.7.
