California Has Adequate Power Supplies

Sacramento, CA — State analysts issued a report yesterday stating that California appears to have enough power supplies for the summer months, despite the lingering drought.

The Associated Press reports the drought has reduced hydroelectric production, but the agency that operates the state’s wholesale power system says recently developed solar plants are keeping supplies reliable. The summer months are when state residents have the highest demand as air conditioners are cranked up. California’s Independent System Operator indicates that demand is expected to be met, even if the state has extreme hot streaks during the summer months.
