Winter Storm Watch For Sierra Nevada

San Andreas, Ca — A winter storm watch will go into effect tonight for the Sierra Nevada.

According to the National Weather Service, significant snow and high winds may be heading into the region.

The storm is expected to last through tomorrow afternoon. A strong jet stream will accompany this storm, and high winds in excess of 70 mph are possible over ridges and exposed locations.

Snow amounts may exceed one foot at locations above 6000 feet before the snow comes to an end on Thursday evening.
