San Andreas, Ca — The Interim Community Development Director for Calaveras County, John Taylor, is proposing that eight of the Building Department´s 20 paid positions be laid off due to tough budget times.
The recommendation is in a report that was given to the Board of Supervisors and will be discussed at Tuesday´s meeting. The layoffs would help offset an expected $750,000 2008-09 deficit. Tuesday´s meeting will begin at 9am in San Andreas.
