Modesto, CA — By a unanimous vote Trustee Pat Dean of Sonora has been elected the new Board Chair for the Yosemite Community College District.
Dean will serve in that position through November, 2010.
Dean has served on the Y.C.C.D. Board since 2003 and is the Area One representative which represents Tuolumne and Calaveras counties and the eastern portion of Stanislaus County.
The Y.C.C.D. covers a 4.500 square mile area and serves a population of over 550,000 encompassing all of Tuolumne and Stanislaus counties plus portions of Calaveras, Merced, San Joaquin and Santa Clara.
The District’s two colleges, Columbia College and Modesto Junior College, serve over 23,000 students.
