Sonora, CA — The cost to fight the Knight Fire in the Stanislaus River Canyon has exceeded $8.9 million.
Pat Kaunert of the Stanislaus National Forest says that crews hope to have it contained by Sunday at 6pm. The fire is 45 percent contained and over 5,000 acres in size.
1,259 firefighters remain assigned to the incident. There have been four minor injuries reported.
