Turkey Spill Closed Lyons Bald Mountain

Sonora, CA — Lyons Bald Mountain Road was closed down overnight by Caltrans because turkey parts were spilled over 1/4 mile from a truck that was leaving the nearby Diestel Turkey Ranch.

The road was closed down because vehicles were sliding across the road and a big rig truck even became stuck trying to travel up Lyons Bald Mountain. Caltrans, the County Roads Department, County Health and the CHP were all notified of the incident. The accident was reported shortly before 8pm and cleanup was completed at around 4am. The truck was not carrying living turkeys.
