Forest Lifts Fire Restrictions

Sonora, CA — Fire restrictions have now been lifted in the designated High Hazard areas of the Stanislaus National Forest.

Visitors may now use wood, charcoal and gas stoves outside of developed campgrounds, assuming they have a valid California Campfire permit and follow the permit regulations. The decision is due to the recent wet weather, shorter days, higher humidity and cooler conditions.

Burn permits are still suspended in the CAL Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras jurisdiction
