Update: Vegetation Fire In Calaveras County

Update at 4:35 p.m.:  Crews have stopped the forward rate of spread at 1/2 acre for a vegetation fire in the 8800 block of Cave City Road near Steeds Way in Calaveras County. CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff tells Clarke Broadcasting that the fire was an escaped debris burn.

Original post at 2 p.m.: Mountain Ranch, CA –Fire crews are heading to the Mountain Ranch area for the report of a vegetation fire.

CAL Fire details that the blaze is in the 8800 block of Cave City Road near Steeds Way. There is no information at this time as to the fire’s size or the flame’s rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened. We will have an update as soon as more information comes into the newsroom.
