Making Christmas Special For Calaveras Families

San Andreas, CA– The CHP and Santa’s Express are teaming up for the 14th annual CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive.

“On Saturday we’re going be out at the Save Mart Shopping Center in Angels Camp from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm,” said San Andreas CHP Officer Rebecca Myers. “Bring the kids to take a picture with “Chipper” and bring a toy. We’re going to pack our patrol car.”

Myers says donated toys will be given to hospitalized and disadvantaged children in Calaveras County just before Christmas.

In addition to the Toy Drive, the Calaveras County Resource Connection Food Bank will be on hand. They will be taking donations of turkeys, hams, and non-perishable food items which will be distributed to Calaveras County families in need this holiday season.

“During the Thanksgiving holiday we were able to feed 1,200 families,” said Jeannie Hayward, Food Bank Program Director. “I hope we can do the same for Christmas.”
