Motor Fire Over 4,700 Acres

Mariposa County, CA — The Motor Fire near Yosemite National Park has now grown to 4,755 acres and is 35 percent contained.

The fire, started last Thursday by a motorhome, is located near Highway 140. Over 800 firefighters have been assisting, including resources from the CAL Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit. Highway 140 remains closed going into Yosemite National Park. Residents in the communities of Incline and Rancheria have been evacuated, and numerous campgrounds have been closed. The fire is in steep, rugged terrain, making it difficult to extinguish.
