Prescribed Burn Season

A new prescribed burn is starting up in the Stanislaus National Forest, and it is expected to continue over the next week.

The South Beardsley Underburn will consist of 671 acres. The goal is to reduce the buildup of flammable forest fuels, and reintroduce fire into the ecosystem. The prescribed fire is south of Beardsley Lake and adjacent to Beardsley Road. Smoke may be visible over the next week or so along the Highway 108 corridor.
