Fire Agencies Interested In JPA

Sonora, CA – A few fire agencies are starting to express an interest in exploring the idea of creating a Joint Powers Authority for fire protection and emergency services in Tuolumne County.

CAO Craig Pedro announced at this week’s Supervisors meeting that Tuolumne, Jamestown and Groveland have all voted to participate in the dialogue. The County has not heard back from Mi Wuk Village, Twain Harte, Columbia and Sonora.

The County’s effort is designed to streamline services and costs. Pedro spoke about the creation of a Joint Powers Agreement on last weekend’s Mother Lode Views. You can listen to the 30-minute program by clicking here.
