Weekend Power Outages Remain

Sonora, CA– Thousands of Mother Lode residents are still without power this weekend.

According to PG&E, that includes approximately 11,000 customers in Tuolumne County and over 5,000 in Calaveras County.

The Sonora area has the most residents without electricity at around 4,400. There are 1,900 scattered outages around the Twain Harte area and around 2,000 in Tuolumne City.

In Calaveras County, over 5,000 customers in the Arnold area are currently without power.

“Due to the heavy snow and weather conditions, we’ve had some accident issues,” said PG&E Spokesperson J.D Guido. “We’ve also mobilized crews from some of the less impacted areas and have brought them into some of the heavier impacted areas like Tuolumne County. Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible.”

PG&E is not able to give an estimated restoration time because the outages are so widespread. To report an outage or to receive information on a specific neighborhood, call 1-800-PGE-5000.
