Commission To Vote On Quarry

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Planning Commission will again take up the Cooperstown Quarry project proposed near Jamestown.

The 135 acre rock quarry would be located in the southwest corner of Tuolumne County on property owned by Jack and Tricia Gardella. The Commission discussed the project on February 2nd, but wanted more information regarding potential noise issues, the hours of operation, and maintenance of Cooperstown Road. The Commission was also hoping to see additional oak mitigation for old growth oaks. Final approval of the project would have to be made by the Board of Supervisors.

Tonight’s Planning Commission meeting begins at 7pm at the County Administration Center.
