CAL Fire Helicopter Training Flights

Sonora, CA — If you have noticed a fire helicopter flying overhead this morning, it is because of training, and not an active wildfire.

Clarke Broadcasting has received some calls from residents who have been spotted Helicopter 404 flying overhead in the Sonora area.

CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff notes that there are no active fires in the unit, and it is only a training exercise.
