Free Fishing Today

Today is a good day to try your hand at fishing. It is one of two free fishing days in California.

The California Department of Fish and Game wants you to celebrate the summer and get outdoors. They are making it easy for people to try their hand at fishing without having to buy a sport fishing license.

However, all anglers must follow the fishing regulations. Those include bag and size limits, gear restrictions, report card requirements, fishing hours and stream closures.

The other day you can head out and cast your pole for free is September 8th.
