Several Acre Stanislaus Fire

Groveland, CA — CDF crews are fighting a five acre brush and timber fire at the Moore Creek and Jaw Bone ridge in the Stanislaus National Forest.

There is a campground in the area, the cause of the fire has not been reported yet.

Stanislaus Forest Public Affairs Officer, Jerry Snyder says, air attack units are responding. Many units are responding including helicopters and engines.

There are also reports of a small vegetation fire in the Cedar Ridge area with several engines in route. The fire is 1/8 of an acre and on 23866 Hitching post road.

The Gaines Fire in Mariposa County reproted at 12:45pm is 500 acres and at 20% containment as of 4:00pm. The area is described as: Mount Gaines Road and Hornitos Road, Northwest of Catheys Valley, near the community of Hornitos.
