The New Miss Calaveras

Angels Camp, CA — Brittany Cox of Mountain Ranch is the new Miss Calaveras.

It is one of the traditional events on day one of the Calaveras County Fair. “I was so surprised,” says Cox. “Because all of the other girls were just as deserving.”

Yesterday’s competition included individual interviews, a fitness dance, talent competition and evening gown walk. Cox’s talent was fire dancing. The Calaveras High School senior is the daughter of Tim and Tisha Cox. Next year Cox says she plans to attend the University of Nevada at Reno to study Civil Engineering.
