Winter Storm Watch Issued For Sierra Nevada

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening.


The snow levels will range from 5000 through 6000 feet.


Five to eight inches of snow accumulation is expected above 5000 feet. Up to a foot of snow is anticipated above 7000 feet.


Wind gusts of up to sixty mph are likely over the highest elevations.


There is a chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday.


A second colder and wetter storm system is likely from Thursday night through Saturday.


The snow level will drop to around 4000 feet.
