Yankee Hill Pile Burning

Columbia, CA — Smoke is visible in the area of Yankee Hill Road.

A prescribed burn has started up on Bureau of Land Management property. Over 500 small piles will be burned throughout the next few days, according to BLM Fire Manager Officer Jerry Martinez. The piles were left from a fuels reduction project carried out by the Highway 108 Fire Safe Council, with help from CAL Fire.

Expect to notice smoke in the areas of Columbia and Sonora over the next several days.
