Columbia Man Busted For Drugs

Sonora, CA – A Columbia man was hit with numerous drug charges after being pulled over for speeding by the Sonora Police Department.

The PD reports that 34-year-old John Vires was driving 45 mph early this morning in a posted 25 mph zone. The officer found that Vires, who was on probation, was driving with an invalid license. Inside his vehicle was methamphetamine, marijuana, 14 baggies with methamphetamine residue, straws with methamphetamine residue, glass smoking pipes and other paraphernalia.

Vires was placed under arrest and booked into Tuolumne County Jail. His pickup truck was pulled over at 1:36am in the city limits.
