CAL Fire Suspends Burning

San Andreas, CA — Because of the dry conditions, CAL Fire has suspended all debris burning effective this morning in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.

The lack of precipitation, combined with dry winds, has increased the fire danger. CAL Fire says the suspension will be lifted once there is significant rainfall.

On a related note, there was a four acre vegetation fire Thursday afternoon in the Big Oak Flat-Groveland area. It was located along Ponderosa Way. No homes were damaged, but crews are still on scene this morning mopping up. The cause is under investigation.
