Guilty Plea For Baby’s Death

Sonora, CA — A Jamestown man accused of killing his three month old daughter plead guilty in Tuolumne County Superior Court. 26 year old Kevin Michael Boehmer entered the plea at the trial readiness hearing before the case went to jury trial.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office says Boehmer brought his three-month-old baby to Sonora Regional Medical Center in December saying she was having difficulty breathing. The little girl, Kalie Boehmer, had many injuries and was taken off life support on December 11th at Oakland Children’s Hospital.

Boehmer plead guilty to four felony charges of voluntary manslaughter, assault, injury to a child, and great bodily injury that results in brain injury and/or coma.

The baby’s Mother was and still is serving time in prison in Washington State for a child abuse incident regarding a different child. When Kalie was born, Kevin was given custody and relocated to Tuolumne.

If convicted Boehmer faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
