Copperopolis, CA — Fire Fighters are on the scene of a vegetation fire near Valley Springs. The flames broke out on Palomino Ridge Road off of Hogan Dam Road. Cal Fire reports four to five acres of grass is burning and the flames are threatening nearby brush.
There is no word on the forward rate of spread or whether any structures are threatened at this time. We will update you as soon as we get more information.

Update 4:30pm: Cal Fire reports the fire has grown to 20 acres, but crews have stopped the flames forward progress. They say no structures are threatened.
Update 8:05pm: Cal Fire reports the fire is contained.
