Smoke Will Be Rising

Stanislaus National Forest, CA — The Stanislaus National Forest plans to light up the Crandall Underburn in the Mi-Wok ranger District. The prescribed burn will be ignited the Monday and continue through the next several weeks weather and conditions permitting.

Below are Forest Officials locations for the burn:


(1) 20 Acres – 0.25 to 0.5 miles west of Lyons Reservoir, along Forest Road 3N35 off Forest Road 4N02, at Township 3N, Range 16E, Section 13.


(2) 319 Acres – off Italian Bar Road, 0.5 miles south of Deer Creek, along Forest Road 3N24 at Township 3N, Range 16E, Sections 28-30.


Smoke may be visible from Hwy 108 in the MiWuk/Long Barn area. Burning is contingent on weather, fuel moisture, and air quality. All burning is monitored and conducted in accordance with state and county air quality guidelines, and closely coordinated with local county air quality control districts.
