Wagon Trail On Agenda

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Supervisors will hold a public hearing tomorrow on the long anticipated Highway 4 wagon trail project.


There are different alternatives being looked at to improve the winding stretch of Highway 4 between Angels Camp and Copperopolis. The public hearing will get underway at 1:30 in the afternoon in the Board meeting room.


Also the Supervisors will vote whether to purchase three new patrol vehicles for the Sherriff’s Department and a transport van for the jail. The county would pay Folsom Ford $202,801 under the proposed contract.


In addition the Supervisors will vote whether to approve a contract with Eldorado County related to juvenile detention services. The county would pay El Dorado County a total of $200 a day for two beds at the facility, whether or not they are occupied. In addition, Calaveras County will be able to utilize additional beds, on an as needed basis, for $120 a day.


The full meeting will get underway at 9am.
