Fire Engulfs Calaveras County Structure

San Andreas, CA — There is a structure fire in Calaveras County. CAL Fire reports a two story home is fully engulfed on Leonard Road Near Gold Strike Road in San Andreas. Crews are on the scene battling the blaze. There are reports someone may be trapped inside the home. An ambulance has been called to the scene. The blaze started around 9:45 this morning. We will bring you more information as soon as it’s available.

Update: 10:30 A.m.: CAL Fire reports the structure is a two story home and business. They have 4 engines, 1 Truck and 5 water tenders at the scene. Crews battling the flames are from San Andreas, Mokelumne Hill, Calaveras County Fire and CAL Fire. CAL Fire will not confirm whether someone was trapped in the building when the fire started.


Update 11A.M.: CAL Fire reports the fire is contained. Crews will be doing mop-up at the scene into the evening. CAL Fire confirms when the fire started there were concerns someone may have been trapped inside, but those reports were false.
