Two Injured In Truck Accident

Valley Springs, CA — Additional details have been released about Friday’s big-rig truck rollover accident on Highway 12.

The CHP reports that the semi-truck was driven by 62-year-old Thomas Ackerman of Fairfield. He told officers that a vehicle swerved into his lane, and he swerved his truck to the right to avoid the vehicle. Ackerman then overcorrected and drove across the double-yellow lines, and overturning. Ackerman was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center to treat minor injuries. A passenger in the truck, 41-year-old Thomas Ivey of Fairfield, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Doctors Hospital in Modesto.

The accident happened at 12:40pm east of Double Springs Road. As reported previously, it briefly blocked traffic on Highway 12 during the noon hour.
