New Details On HWY 12 Crash With Serious Injuries

Burson, CA – The San Andreas Unit of the CHP has released new details related to a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 12 in Calaveras County that resulted in serious injuries and hindering traffic.

There were two occupants in the 2013 Dodge Journey SUV when the collision happened near the Messing Road intersection in Burson around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, as reported here. The CHP reports that 40 year-old Aubrey Allen from Napa was behind the wheel of the SUV and for unknown reasons went off the roadway and smashed into a tree.

Allen and his passenger Andrea Dillingham from Valley Springs both sustained major injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the CHP.  Allen was taken via ground ambulance to U.C. Davis Medical Center while Dillingham is being treated at a local hospital.

The wreck remains under investigation, but the CHP does not suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. One-way traffic control was in place on the highway for about an hour as a tow crew removed the wreckage.
