Tuolumne County Hires New Agricultural Commissioner

Sonora, CA — Kelle Schroeder has been hired as Tuolumne County’s new Agricultural Commissioner. She will replace Gary Stockel, who after a 4 years stint with the county, will be retiring on December 29, as reported here. Schroeder has 27 years of experience with 12 of those years with the Stanislaus Agricultural Commissioner’s Office. She currently serves as a Deputy Agricultural Commissioner.

Tuolumne County Administrator Craig Pedro Shares, “Schroeder’s government and customer references were very positive in regards to her character, competence and ability to work with others.” He also notes that Schroeder and her husband already own a second home in the Long Barn area. Her first day on the job, which is a four year term, will be Dec. 30 and her annual yearly salary will be $104,499.

Along with the Ag commissioner duties she will also serves as the Air Pollution Control Officer, Animal Control Director and Sealer of Weights and Measures. Her first day on the job, which is a four year term, will be Dec. 30 and her annual yearly salary will be $104,499.
