Traffic Signal Project Brings Delays In Jamestown

Jamestown, CA — Some paving is taking place over the next two days in Jamestown as part of a 5th Avenue and Highway 108/49 traffic signal project.

The Tuolumne County Community Resources Agency reports, effective 9am this morning, that a stretch of Jamestown Road is closed. It is between Highway 108/49 and 5th Avenue. Southbound traffic on Jamestown Road is being re-routed to 5th Avenue.

Then tomorrow, Friday, beginning at 9am, North 5th Avenue will be closed between Highway 108/49 and Jamestown Road. Northbound traffic on 5th Avenue will be diverted to Jamestown Road.

The detours will be marked. The county has hired Sierra Mountain Construction to carry out the work, and the county asks that drivers slow down and use caution in the work zone.
